The Lost Sparrows of Roodepoort is an engaging and heartfelt look into the lives of HIV/AIDS afflicted orphans in South Africa's Sparrow Village.

Located in Roodepoort, just outside of Johannesburg, Sparrow Village began in Rev. Corine Mclintock's home in the early nineties as she took it upon herself to care for a few AIDS patients as they spent their last days. As time went on and the epidemic grew, Corine had a moment of divine inspiration and knew that something more was needed. In 2002 Sparrow Village was born as a hospice fully dedicated to the needs of its patients, and a home to children left orphans.

The Lost Sparrows of Roodepoort brings the viewer along as these children go about their daily routine - medication, school, checkups, even a birthday party - illuminating their experience as a triumph of hope in the face of something immensely dark and frightening. Woven throughout is the story of the Village's creation, and Corine's unwavering dedication to make it happen.
